The I AM Foundation is grateful to have the wonderful support of Rock Star and Smooth Jazz legend Craig Chaquico. For over a decade, Craig has been an advocate for The I AM Foundation, doing special concerts and featuring The I AM Foundation on his website www.craigchaquico.com.
Craig Chaquico and Steve Viglione, Founder of The I AM Foundation were featured on NBC News in San Diego for one of Craig’s Concerts to Benefit the foundation. Craig’s support has helped The I AM Foundation to gift tens of thousands of books to children and adults worldwide over the years.
Now The I AM Foundation is bringing Craig to Sonoma, CA for a concert to help us impact 100,000 teenagers in Sonoma, Sonoma Valley and throughout Northern California by gifting them each with a copy of The I AM! Affirmation Book for Teens and Young Adults: Empowering Who You Are. And, we are forming a team to do just that. Please contact The I AM Foundation’s Development Director, Christopher Oscar to be part of the team or volunteer at 1.707.287.2285.
About Craig…Craig Chaquico has engaged and inspired two generations of pop music fans, first as a founding member, lead guitarist, and a prolific principle song writer for the multi-platinum Jefferson Starship/ Starship – ’70s, ’80s, ’90. While others came and went Craig is the only person in the band to appear on EVERY recording, tour, MTV video, album, CD, and hit song during that time.
With 20 Gold records combined between Jefferson Airplane, Jefferson Starship and Starship, Craig was instrumental in making that combination one of the most successful bands in history.
In the 1990s, after finding himself at the top of the national charts in each of 3 consecutive decades with his first band, Craig left the fast-paced pop world and reinvented himself as an award winning, #1, GRAMMY nominated, million selling solo artist, songwriter, producer, and band leader, #1 in Billboard for his CDs and songs, GuitarPlayer Magazine Readers’ Poll Winner for Best Pop Instrumental Guitarist, Jazz Iz Magazine list of Top 100 Most Influential Guitarists of All Time, again at the top of the national charts in a fourth decade and a new millennium with #1 Cafe Carnival, #1 Luminosa, and now a fifth decade with Songbird in the Top 3 in Billboard and Smooth Jazz Radio.
As Craig likes to say, “….probably the most famous guitarist that nobody has ever heard of and that they probably couldn’t pronounce the name even if they had, but everybody still hears on the radio after being at the top of the charts for 5 consecutive decades now, ’70s, ’80s, ’90s, ’00s, ’10s. Nobody is more surprised than I am about that or more grateful”
