On Friday, October 29th, 2010, The I AM Foundation held  it’s first Book Gifting Event in Sonoma Valley to support the children of the local farm workers. The event took place at La Luz Center Booker Hall. Over 200 families received  The I AM Foundation’s bi-lingual books, The I AM! Affirmation Book and I Am The Earth in English-Spanish to help children in Sonoma Valley build their literacy and self-esteem. The bi-lingual books are helpful for them to be able to read with their migrant farm worker parents and families.

We had a special Espanol Translator that evening in “Kari” Karina Garcia (pictured above with Dr. Marilyn Powers), a career broadcasting executive with Aztec America. Karina said ” It was a pleasure helping out with the translating at La Luz.  As I mentioned that day, I love being involved with events benefiting our community and your books are an inspiration.”

Dr. Marilyn Powers said, “This work is so important for these children growing up to feel part of society and that they are valued, loved and have unique talents and gifts to share with the world.

  1. Thank you for another great article. Where else could anyone get that kind of information in such a perfect way of writing? I have a presentation next week, and I am on the look for such information.
