Meet Dare to Dream
Dare to Dream Fund was created in June 2008 from the vision of providing every young person with the opportunity to discover his or her potential in school, at work, and in life. Our organization’s model combines community collaboration with imaginative original-content programs to provide young people with the tools to navigate higher education and career development. Dare to Dream’s founders have a combined 35 years of experience in new business development and management.
At Dare to Dream Fund, we set young people on a path to achieving their goals. Our Lifecycle® suite of programs encourages young people to live their vision, empowers them to create committed action plans and a road map so that they can stay the course and live their dreams. These programs involve structured, planned and on-going interactions that extend over a period of time with specific, measurable goals for its participants such as authoring, illustrating & publishing their books. Our Lifecycle® programs are designed around the distinctions of commitment, responsibility, accountability & possibility.
The Lifecycle® has been adopted by after-school programs in Monterey County’s leading youth organizations, including the Boys & Girls Clubs of Monterey County, the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Monterey County, the International School of Monterey, the Community Partnership for Youth, the YMCA of the Monterey Peninsula, The Lyceum and The South Monterey County Center for the Arts & Technology. This truly collaborative effort supplements existing programs to ensure that every young person is on a path to higher education.
Thus far, close to 100 young people have participated in our programs and have published books about what’s possible for them in their future and how they would like to contribute to their communities.
